  3. Free or paid web hosting?

Just finished your first website? So it's the time to look for some hosting and make a choice. Your first question probably will be whether to choose free or paid hosting service. Let's have a look at some advantages and disadvantages of these solutions.

I can share my personal experience towards this question.
You know, most free web hosts impose advertising on your website. If someone finds your site on the search engine, and he tries to access it but find that it is down, he'll simply go down the list to find another site.
As a matter of fact it is better to use paid and reliable hosting services. As for recommendation, try Marblehost.com as it is secure and honest company. One more important fact is that your website will be constantly online and you will never have problems with it.

The popular one around here is http://eastsolid.com/

However, I've used http://dreamhost.com/ and had no problems.

EastSolid is a good paid host. I have been using them for around 2 years now with reseller and dedicated server accounts.

There support is excellent and they have good uptime. Also, if you want to be on a server that has the latest and greatest php, mysql, etc. They offer that too! I know, because I'm on it for my personal sites.

For free hosting, go with Zymic but for paid, go EastSolid.

I used free hosts for 2 years, only 2 were good, one forced ads and one closed (and had been having bad problems for 4 months prior). A few dollars a month can go a long way.

Very, I used to use 5gigs, and I must say they were about THE best free host. Then my acc got deleted and they started forcing ads. It went downhill from there...
