Canny Edge Detection

Wow, stuff has been reorganized around here!,
anyways; my question is that see lots of "pay-ware" .dll files that claim to do this but no free examples for vb6, I have tried this but only got a crashed computer (oh how i love the absence of auto save). So after recovering my work I tried some other but found they did not work, however a online canny filter turned out perfect results for what I wanted. Is there any way to do this in vb6?

I program in VB, so I might be able to help... but I don't understand what a canny filter is or what you are trying to achive.

Yes, I am back, the part I am having problems with is (this may found funny but...) doing it in VB6, but I still can't find out how (this question is not high on my priority list)
