Quick and easy tutorial to make a kind of trippy, swirling tunnel effect. I use photoshop cs but you can probably do it very easily in all other photoshop versions.
After opening photoshop go to File>New(control+n)
For this I'll be using 400x400
Press D to reset your colors
Grab your gradiant tool. Choose linear gradient, and I turned reverse off.
Drag down the gradient until you have something similer to my picture. It'll probably take a few tries until you get something that looks good.
What we got so far:
Now do Filter>Distort>Wave
Use these settings:
Next is Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates, and choose rectangular to polar.
Starting to look cool now:
Now go to Layer>Duplicate Layer
With the bottom layer selected press control+f (unclick the the top layers eye to see it)
Now select your top layer (make sure it's visable) and do Filter>Distort>Twirl
And set the angle to 50 and hit "OK"
And hit control+f to do it again
With the top layer selected choose it's blending mode to difference
Now you can choose to color it or not
What my end result was:
Post results, comments, or criticism. This tutorial is based off the one I found here I edited the instructions in my own way and used my own pictures.
