And come on, Photo Booth is so much fun. Especially when you have friends over, you can have a lot of laughs.
The Mac I use is at work, so it would be a little inappropriate to invite friends over. Like I said, it is a toy. Of course it is fun for a little while when you have some friends around to make silly pictures, but ultimately it is useless.

    Ah, Coda.

Is it just me, or do all Panic's applications look real good?

I'm a big fan of Candy Bar, myself.

I love TextWrangler, for editing code. It's free as well.

FileZilla, an FTP client, isn't very "Mac-like," but it's open source and has far fewer bugs than Cyberduck (which I used to use, but got fed up with how buggy it was...)

Some other apps I use (until I switched to Windows) include the GIMP and MAMP.

No thanks, FileZilla looks like somebody used an icon shotgun on it.

And there are many good 'Mac-like' Mac FTP clients: ExpanDrive, Trasmit, Flow, even Coda can hold its own.

If you won't use pay-for apps then OS X is probably not the platform for you. The 'indie developer' ecosystem is somewhat stronger than other platforms, and developers need income!

I only switched to Windows because I built a new PC, and didn't want to make a Hackintosh. I still like OS X much more :)

The free apps suit my needs fine. I also don't have a method to buy pay-for programs, other than using my dad's credit card and giving him cash...
